Your purpose in our mission

We’ve raised $17.8 million in Series A funding led by Google Ventures and joined by Khosla Ventures. They believe in our vision that the law should be accessible to everyone. We need your skills to push the boundaries of what is possible in law.

Our org structure is made up of pods with distinct areas of focus to keep us all working on the most impactful things for our customers all of the time. Some of our team members work across multiple pods. Our structure was conceived with impact, autonomy and velocity in mind and we'd love to share more with you throughout our interview process. Your manager, Daniele Tassone - Technical Director (Product Engineering), will develop your skills and enable you to deliver on the pod mission.

This is what you’ll be doing

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Genie AI you’ll be joining us in a dynamic stage of our growth so you’ll face lots of different challenges. You’ll get the chance to immerse yourself within the world of law, legal contracts and AI at a start-up that is genuinely ML-centred. Some of your key day to day duties will include:

• Re-build the Genie AI DevOps function from scratch, own the entire DevOps process and act as the guarantor of the delivery of Genie product to our customers

• Work alongside our team of software and machine learning engineers to implement security-as-code principles using Terraform throughout the stack in an agile environment

• Ensure infrastructure stability through continuous monitoring and proactive maintenance

• Drive the integration of security controls in cloud components, including managing privacy using VPC/VPN, IP whitelists and encryption

• Manage the Github CI/CD pipeline and keep up to date with cloud services

• Exhibit a commitment to learning, enabling you to consistently introduce new and improved solutions

• Be a committed Genie AI ambassador and a member of our team that learns and grows together, embracing diversity and extreme intellectual curiosity

This is how we’ll set you up for success and the outcomes we expect from you

Over your first 90 days you can expect us to help point you in the right direction to set you up for success. During the interview process we can talk you through a high level overview of your 90 day plan.

By the end of your first three months we expect you to have:

• Led the rebuild of Genie’s infrastructure, implementing a new CI/CD pipeline

• Cultivated a strong curiosity around evolving our infrastructure to support Genie’s continued success and long-term relevance

We’ll continually develop and measure success on the below criteria:

• CI/CD speed

• Enabling & educating other Genies so that everyone is empowered

The skills you need to succeed in this role

• Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously as a DevOps Engineer in startup or scaling environments, without reliance on a larger DevOps team

• Strong understanding of the DevOps principles and familiarity with the DevOps Manifesto

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS, and proficiency with modern infrastructure tools including Terraform, Helm, Docker, GitHub Actions, and Kubernetes

• Collaborative mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for working across teams to drive shared outcomes

• Comfortable working independently while also contributing within a small, diverse, and agile team environment

• Highly proactive in managing your own workload, task tracking, and prioritisation

• Passionate about continuous self-improvement and committed to ongoing personal and professional development
