Healthcare systems are struggling; our solution is communication.
We have a bold vision: everyone involved in a patient’s care - including the patient - should be able to communicate easily with each other. And we believe every NHS staff member should be using our software to make that happen. We want to make healthcare genuinely better.
We are solving one of the biggest challenges of our generation, and to do this, we need the best talent possible to help us raise the bar… this is where you come in.
Our products are used daily (and you will have most certainly received a message from us) by over 98% of GP practices and half of NHS hospitals, impacting millions of lives. As a Head of Data Protection and in-house DPO, your role will be mission critical and you will be central to shaping the core communication infrastructure of the NHS. You'll directly enable faster, safer, and more accessible patient care.
Meet your Manager...
"Our mission to transform healthcare communication is built on a foundation of trust – trust from our users, trust from patients, and trust in the healthcare system itself. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape and lead our efforts in continually fostering this trust through our products. As we innovate to solve critical problems, there's no more exhilarating time to be part of this journey!" - Diane Abela, CISO
The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Data Protection and in-house DPO to help shape the next chapter of our privacy and data protection journey. This role is pivotal in ensuring that as we grow and innovate, we continue to protect the rights of our users and patients while enabling the business to move at pace.
You will be a key leader in our Technology division, working as a trusted partner to the CISO, supporting the business through its next phase of growth. You will help ensure we remain at the forefront of safe and responsible digital health innovation. You’ll be instrumental in driving responsible innovation—especially as we expand into AI-powered products—and will champion privacy at the heart of everything we do.
The Unique Challenges You'll Solve:
This role goes beyond typical tasks. You will be a leader who challenges the status quo and shapes our future. Your key challenges will include:
Develop and own a forward-thinking privacy strategy: You will support our mission of responsible innovation, positioning privacy as a business enabler within a fast-paced Healthtech environment. You will challenge the status quo in the way we implement privacy practices and controls within our products and services, with a strong focus on how privacy can enable healthcare communication.
Enabling the rollout of safe and compliant AI to our users: You will be a key stakeholder in guiding how we responsibly leverage AI into our products and safely roll them out to our customers, ensuring patient data is safeguarded at every stage.
Building a Scalable Privacy Function: You will manage and continuously develop a high-performing privacy and data protection function, coaching and mentoring the current team and scaling as needed.
What We're Looking For...
We need a leader who embodies our Principles and thrives on significant challenges. We're seeking the core skills below, coupled with a mindset ready for real impact.
Innovative mindset: You have a proven ability to guide technology organizations through responsible innovation and transformational change, especially where emerging technologies like AI/ML intersect with sensitive data. You stay ahead of regulatory changes and trends in digital health, AI, and data ethics.
Thought Leadership: You are experienced in innovating and transforming privacy practices, challenging traditional industry approaches to implement compliant and novel privacy methods.
Leadership & team growth: You have demonstrated experience building and leading privacy or data protection teams, growing capability, nurturing talent, and fostering a culture of trust and collaboration.
Driving change through influence: You can influence at the senior leadership level and partner with technology, product, and clinical teams.
A continuous improvement mindset: You take a pragmatic, business-enabling approach, balancing compliance with speed in a scale-up environment.
External facing stakeholder management: You have strong communication skills and are able to represent the business externally to regulators and partners.
Our Principles in Action
Fix healthcare communication: Healthcare systems are struggling; our solution is communication - all of our efforts are centred here.
Raise the bar: We have built an exceptional team to solve hard challenges. We hire for expertise and new ideas, maintaining high standards, giving honest feedback, and only delivering work we're proud of.

Succeed together: We succeed only as a team. Our mission is too important for anything less, so company success always comes first.
Move with urgency: We’re on a mission, and every day lost is a missed opportunity to improve lives. We work at pace and focus on our mission, our users, and our impact.
Be relentlessly resourceful:.We embrace constraints as they force us to think differently, be creative, and focus.
Embrace challenge:.We value constructive conflict over harmony, having tough conversations for the best outcome.
