The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a robust background in protein engineering to become a core member of our R&D team. In this role, you will lead hands-on experimental efforts and be instrumental in advancing projects from initial library construction to final activity validation.
You will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver real-world impact through cutting-edge science.
What You'll Do- Design and execute molecular biology experiments, including routine cloning and the construction of high-diversity libraries.
- Express, purify, and analyze enzymes using techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, and various functional assays.
- Develop and optimize HPLC protocols for product quantification, including instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical tools to generate insights that drive our design-build-test-learn cycles.
- Maintain meticulous lab records and prepare clear experimental summaries for internal reports and presentations.
- Conduct literature and patent searches to support business development and project scoping.
- A PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven hands-on experience with genetic engineering tools and techniques.
- Expertise in enzyme expression, purification, and characterization.
- Proficiency in HPLC method development and instrumentation.
- The ability to write or adapt scripts for data analysis (e.g., Python, R, JMP).
- A creative and independent mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- A goal-oriented approach with the ability to deliver high-quality results on tight deadlines.
- A passion for working in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
