The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist with a strong background in biocatalysis to join our R&D team. This position is at the core of our protein engineering platform. You will lead experimental efforts at the bench and play a key role in driving projects forward—from analytical method development, enzyme function validation, to enzyme product application test. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment focused on delivering real-world impact through innovation.

What You'll Do
- Develop and optimize liquid chromatography and gas chromatography protocols for product validation.
- Design and execute assays for enzyme variants using plate-based assays and analytical chemistry tools.
- Analyze experimental data using statistical tools and generate insights to drive design-build-test-learn cycles.
- Maintain accurate lab records, analyze data systematically, and prepare experimental summaries for internal reports or presentations.
- Conduct literature and patent searches to support business development and project scoping efforts.
What You'll Need
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical engineering, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related fields or Masters in related fields with 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with analytical chemistry method development.
- Proficiency in LC/GC method development and instrumentation.
- Experience in chemical synthesis is a plus.
- Experience heterologous protein expression/protein engineering is a plus but not required.
- Experience with oligonucleotide synthesis and detection is a plus.
- Demonstrated creativity, independence, and strong problem-solving skills in previous roles.
- Goal-oriented with a proven ability to deliver high-quality work within tight project timelines.
- Systematic and problem-solving mindset to manage multiple projects effectively.
