Amber for Batteries unlocks more value for homeowners with batteries, driving down their energy bills and their payback periods. By storing energy when it’s cheap and exporting it to the grid for wholesale feed-in rates of up to $19/kWh, Amber’s software is completely changing the economics of home batteries and accelerating the energy transition.
Amber for EVs is our EV smart charging solution that helps EV owners save on their charging costs by using more cheap, renewable energy - whether that’s their own excess solar energy, or renewable energy that’s abundant in the grid. In 2025, we are kicking off development of our game-changing vehicle-to-grid technology.
💡 About the Role
We are hiring a Strategic Growth Operations Manager to sit within the Marketing team and drive the operationalization of growth opportunities at Amber.
This is a hybrid role for an analytically minded operator who can move between strategy, analytics, experimentation and execution.
You will rigorously analyse growth levers using SQL and self-serve data tools and then work cross-functionally to put your insights into motion by designing tests, launching initiatives, and scaling what works.
You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product, Data, and Finance but ultimately own outcomes in the Marketing & Commercial Growth space, embedding scrappy growth-ops horsepower into the team.
👉🏽 What You’ll Be Doing
Strategy & Commercial Operations
Analyse growth performance to identify new commercial opportunities and prioritise high-impact bets
Build business cases and implementation plans for new go-to-market initiatives
Partner with Product to shape roadmap items from a marketing/commercial perspective
Execution & Experimentation
Design, launch and run tests across acquisition, lifecycle, product marketing and channel levers
Turn insights into action by bringing initiatives to life cross-functionally (marketing, product, data and operations)Support teams across growth to design, measure and optimize their campaigns for maximum performance
Data & Analytics
Build dashboards, models and workflows in SQL, Google Sheets and visualization tools to inform decisions
Create operational reporting and performance tracking that enables self-service insights across the growth team
Monitor customer behaviour, cohort trends and retention to highlight risks and opportunities
Growth Project Delivery
Stand up and deliver data focused growth initiatives that need to be hustled into existence
Drive incremental revenue and customer engagement by owning end-to-end projects
Build scalable growth processes and playbooks as Amber matures
🎯 What We’re Looking For
- 4–7 years’ experience in Growth Strategy, Operations, Analytics, Consulting, Product Marketing or a similar data-driven role
- Proven SQL skills and proficiency with analytics / BI tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Amplitude, GA)Proven track record in converting analytical insights into shipped initiatives
- Strong commercial judgement and structured problem-solving
- Hands-on startup mentality, comfortable rolling up your sleeves and operating in ambiguity
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Bonus points: Experience in energy, fintech, consumer subscription businesses or growth-stage technology companies

This is a full-time role to be based ideally from Melbourne, but we are also open to considering the right candidate anywhere within Australia.
We have an office in the Melbourne CBD, where we work flexibly between the office and home. For those based in Sydney we work from a co-working space in the city, and the rest of the locations in Australia work from home. We expect to remain Melbourne based but maintain flexibility between the office and WFH.

- An initial screening interview with our Talent team
- A conversation with our head of Marketing (who is both the Reporting and Hiring Manager for the role) and a member of the Marketing team
- A take-home case study or assignment, designed to take no more than 2-3 hours to complete
- A follow-up case study discussion with our CMO and another member of the Data team
- A final conversation with one or two members of our Executive Leadership Team
