About Asterix

We’re solving the biggest problem in healthcare: The shortage of highly-qualified doctors.

Millions of patients wait weeks for appointments. Millions more are stuck on hospital waitlists. Preventable conditions are missed and go unnoticed. You know this is a societal problem.

Asterix is building the only scalable solution: a new model of care where highly-qualified doctors are augmented by best-in-class technology to make safer, more consistent clinical decisions.

Our DoctorOS platform is becoming the backbone of modern healthcare delivery. We combine rigorous clinical leadership, real-world healthcare workflows, and AI tooling that makes doctors 10x more productive.

We’re backed by leading UK Healthcare Investors, Entrepreneurs First and a group of incredible angels, and are live with some of the largest healthcare providers in the UK generating revenue and scaling fast.

Your mission at Asterix

You'll join our delivery team. We get doctors onboarded, keep them moving, and make sure shifts are covered. Behind every doctor who logs in ready to work sits a chain of work: a registration completed correctly, a deadline chased on time, a schedule built without gaps. You'll own pieces of that chain.

This isn't glamorous. It's the work that makes the company actually run. Every doctor onboarded smoothly, every follow-up closed on time, every shift filled. That's the job. Done well, doctors can focus on patients and we can scale.

You'll start by shadowing the team and absorbing how things work. Within weeks, you'll own pieces yourself. We'll teach you the systems, the processes, and the AI tools we use to move 10x faster. What we can't teach is care, pace, and ownership. That has to come from you.

What you'll do

You'll sit inside our delivery team, making sure doctors are onboarded, supported, and scheduled so they can do their job well. Your day-to-day:

Doctor onboarding

  • Support the doctor registration process, working alongside Farid — collecting documents, completing checks, setting doctors up across our internal systems and partner platforms.

  • Make new doctors feel looked after from day one: clear comms, no friction, no chasing.

  • Keep onboarding records accurate and complete. If something is missing or wrong, you catch it before anyone else does.

Staying in touch with doctors

  • Make sure things get done on time, chase what's outstanding, confirm what's coming, share what's changed.

  • Hold doctors to deadlines politely but firmly. Equally, make sure nothing they need from us is sitting in someone's inbox.

Keeping the operation running

  • Flag anything unusual to Jamil and Farid early. We'd rather pause for 10 minutes than ship the wrong thing.

Using AI to move faster

  • Use AI tools to draft emails, summarise information, check your own work, and speed up repetitive tasks.

  • Spot processes that should be automated and tell us — you'll be closer to the work than anyone, so your input shapes what we build next.

  • Bonus if you can actually build the automations yourself using tools like n8n or Zapier.

Who you are

This is a junior, learn-on-the-job role. We are not looking for years of experience. We are looking for the right person.

You'll be a great fit if:

  • Your English is genuinely strong. Written and spoken. You can draft a professional email without hesitation and hold a call with a UK colleague without losing the thread.

  • You’re kind. You will be representing Asterix externally. This means that you need to know how to build relationships, be curious about other people and create an environment where doctors want to work for us.

  • You're detail-obsessed. A doctor registration with the wrong details is a real problem. You triple-check.

  • You're high agency. You don't wait to be told. You see something that needs doing and you do it, or you ask the right question to unblock it.

  • You care. About your work, the team, and the patients on the other end of what we build. You wake up wanting to do a good job.

  • You're curious about AI. You don't need to be technical, but you should be the kind of person who tries AI tools before asking for help, and who gets excited about saving an hour with a clever prompt.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • Strong written and spoken English. Non-negotiable.

  • Comfortable working in-office 5 days a week in Baku (Caspian Plaza). No remote element.

  • Comfortable with computers. Google Workspace, basic spreadsheets, willingness to learn new tools quickly.

Nice to have

  • Previous internship or work experience in operations, admin, recruitment, or a healthcare setting.

  • Experience using AI tools in study or work.

The deal

We're honest about what this role is and how it progresses..

Month 1 — Training and onboarding period

  • 30 days, full-time in the Baku office.

  • You shadow Farid and Jamil, learn our systems, take on supervised work.

  • Performance is evaluated against clear criteria set on day 1.

  • Decision point at day 30: confirmed or not.

From day 31 — Confirmed hire

Independent ownership of your own tasks, with weekly check-ins.

Month 3 onwards

  • Regular quarterly reviews with Jamil.

  • Development plan agreed — where you want to go next and how we help you get there.

  • Real progression path. The team in Baku is growing. The first hires shape what comes next.

Why join us

  • Purpose & pace. You'll be working on something that matters, getting real patients to real doctors, faster and safer.

  • Learn fast. You'll learn more in 6 months here than 2 years in a big company. Operations, AI tools, healthcare, working with a UK startup

  • A tight-knit team. Small office, no politics, people who want to do great work and have fun doing it.

  • Real ownership. Junior in title, not in trust. Show you can run something, and it's yours.

The Asterix way
  • Humble — We assume we're wrong until the data or a clinician proves otherwise. Curiosity over ego.

  • Joyful energy — We take the work seriously, not ourselves. We celebrate progress and keep the energy high.

  • In-person by design — We work shoulder-to-shoulder. It makes us faster, tighter, and better.

We're an early-stage company with massive ambition. The pace is fast. You'll thrive if that excites you. If you're looking for a comfortable 9-to-5, this isn't the role.
