The role and your impact.
The Policy and Business Development Executive will be joining our growing Business Development team with an established track record of success. Over the past six years, we have launched multiple high-performing micro-mobility schemes, positioning Beryl as the U.K.’s leading multi-vehicle micromobility company. We are now looking to build on these successes and expand into new markets across the U.K. and Europe, this exciting opportunity will play a crucial role in delivering this.
You will be working with the Director of Business Development and Policy to build a pipeline of relevant opportunities that allow us to launch micromobility projects in new markets. Our formula involves nurturing meaningful relationships with transport authorities across the U.K. and Europe; with the mutual aim of developing a deeper understanding of how a micromobility project will best work in their city. All current and future projects will contribute to shared positive outcomes for local communities, encouraging a shift towards sustainable travel and a greener future.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing new relationships and growth opportunities in UK and European towns and cities;
- Building a strong pipeline of relevant opportunities for launching new services whilst delivering against targets;
- Establish strategic relationships with local authorities and third-party stakeholders, and work to build trust and mitigate potential obstacles and promote our priorities and strategies.
- Building and maintaining an in-depth understanding of our services by working closely with our operational and technical managers;
- Record and administer our CRM system;
- Attend events to network and create leads;
- Contribute to new policy goals and projects that progress our aim of becoming the UK’s leading micromobility company.
Requirements
While the ideal candidate should fulfill most of the list below, we know that ideal candidates rarely exist, so we will consider all applications from people keen on learning to fill in any gaps.
Essential:
- Minimum 2 years of experience within a business development function in the UK or Europe;
- Experience working with public sector procurement, particularly tendering for work with government agencies
- Proven ability to autonomously manage complex projects.
- Experience of working in the transport sector;
- Ability to share ownership of tasks and drive results as a team.
Desirable:
- Experience working on micromobility projects in the public sector in UK or Ireland;
- Keen interest in cycling and a passion for urban and micromobility would be beneficial; Beryl is made up of cyclists and mobility advocates of all types- from lycra-wearers to nursery-run parents.
- A strong communicator with excellent writing, public speaking, and presenting skills.
