Role Overview

As an Operational RMA Assistant, you’ll play a key part in supporting our supply chain team, workshops and problem manager. Your focus will be on our Internet of Things (IoT) repair and refurb process, asset/component triage/evaluation processes and general operational support as and when needed. You’ll assist with day to day workshop function, managing stock movements, and collaborating closely with our workshop and support teams to identify and resolve technical issues. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on technical ability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and carry out RMA processing/repairs for BILS (Beryl Intelligent Lighting System) and IoT devices.
  • Diagnose, repair, and refurbish locks and related hardware from Beryl’s asset range.
  • Book in deliveries and manage outbound stock shipments to main storage facilities.
  • Maintain accurate workshop records, ensuring traceability and quality standards.
  • Communicate with Product and Support Leads to identify recurring repair issues and provide feedback to improve reliability.
  • Work collaboratively with workshop technicians to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Ensure the workshop is kept tidy, safe, and well-organised at all times, including regular cleaning, tool management, and waste disposal.
  • Adhere to Beryl’s safety, environmental, and operational standards at all times.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience with basic electronics, mechanical repairs, or hardware assembly.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow repair procedures and documentation accurately.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn new repair techniques and technologies.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a workshop, technical support, or logistics environment.
  • Understanding of IoT systems or micromobility devices.
  • Basic IT literacy (e.g., spreadsheets, repair tracking systems).
  • Valid UK driving licence (for occasional on-street related task and site visits).
