A bit about us

At Inoviv, we are building a world where every treatment reaches its full potential, powered by timely and precise proteomics insights.

Using our unique technology platform in combination with targeted mass spectrometry, we develop new biomarker tests that quantify molecules in biofluid samples with high accuracy and reproducibility. The aim of these tests is to deliver diagnostic, prognostic or treatment efficacy data which can be used in clinical trials to aid the development of new therapies, as well as for marketed drugs as companion/complementary diagnostic tools. We are working closely with pharmaceutical companies to help patients with neurodegeneration (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, muscular dystrophies), kidney disease, cancers and other conditions.

We are a team of passionate individuals supported by academic and commercial advisors from Oxford University, King’s College London, Imperial College London, Charité University Hospital and Olink. We are also backed by the world’s leading talent investor Entrepreneur First.

We are based in central London and are open to flexible or fully remote working.

The role

Reporting directly to the CSO, you will analyse, visualise and interpret discovery and targeted proteomics data, generating publication quality outputs for client reports, patent applications and peer-reviewed publications. You will contribute to streamlining and automating current processes/workflows (e.g. experimental design, data analysis), and conceptualise and build new ones. You will work within a talented scientific team with considerable autonomy and support the growth of the bioinformatics function at Inoviv.

Key responsibilities include:

● Analysing and visualising discovery and targeted proteomics datasets, generated on various LC-MS platforms, including DIA, DDA, TMT, MRM data from Thermo, SCIEX, Waters and other platforms.

● Conducting a variety of univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, including PCA, PLS-DA, Volcano plots, various linear and multiple regressions.

● Statistical modelling of clinical outcomes from large scale high resolution Mass Spectrometry clinical trial datasets.

● Producing publication quality outputs for client reports, patent applications and peer-reviewed publications.

● Interpreting the generated datasets in conjunction with publicly available data, conducting further insight analysis.

● Streamlining and automating current experimental design and data analysis processes and workflows, typically in Python or R.

● Maintaining and innovating internal tools and data structures.

● Communication of key findings and highly complex analyses to a variety of audiences.

● Other activities to ensure successful R&D and client project delivery.

Why this is a great role

● Accelerated career development - the responsibilities of the role will be growing fast, in line with the growth of the company.

● You will be developing the next generation biomarker tests which have the potential to impact drug development and advance precision medicine.

● This is a permanent, full- or part-time, office- or home-based position.

● You will have employee share options meaning you will own part of the company.

Your qualifications & experience should include:

● PhD or equivalent background in Bioinformatics, Computational biology, Biostatistics or a related discipline with significant research experience.

● Substantial prior experience of proteomics data analysis and visualisation.

● Evidence based significant experience in data and statistical modelling approaches.

● Evidence based experience of presenting data/graphical outputs to non-technical audiences.

● Proven programming skills in either Python or R.

The ideal person will:

● Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

● Have strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
