Job Overview:

The Operation Manager (QC) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the certified, uncertified, Melee and gemstone quality control process, ensuring that all products meet established standards. This role is essential in maintaining product excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction. They will work closely with ops teams, suppliers, and internal departments to implement and maintain effective quality control processes.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Implement QC Processes: Design, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with company standards and customer preferences

  • On Time QC: Ensure 100% of diamonds and gemstones are QC’d bye the team the same day as received.

  • Quality Audits: Lead internal and external quality audits to assess product performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to reduce their QC rejections

  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve quality issues by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the QC team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives.

  • Hiring: Grow the QC team as necessary to support the growing volume of products.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present QC reports, identifying trends, defects, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Training: Develop training programs for staff to enhance their understanding of quality control processes and standards.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve QC methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in Operations in Jewellery and Diamond Industry.

  • Education: Certified Diamond Grader or equivalent degree

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel. Preferable Tableau or similar software.

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead a team, manage projects, and work cross-functionally with other departments.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision and thoroughness in executing tasks.
