Our Mission
We’re fixing the most broken process in business. Whether it’s SaaS, hardware, or contractors, a typical B2B purchase drags on for 3+ months, spawns 50+ emails, and pulls in multiple stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Security, and IT. Nobody likes it, and it slows businesses down.
Omnea exists to change that. Our AI-native platform connects the people, steps, and systems so buying just works. Employees have one place to make requests, the right approvals run automatically, renewals and supplier risk checks are handled on time, and leaders get clear visibility into how, when, and why money is being spent.
This matters more now than ever: volatile markets demand capital efficiency, businesses who adopt AI quickly have a competitive advantage, and evolving regulation demands evidenceable controls—so buying has to be fast and compliant by default.
Founded in 2022, we’re trusted by global enterprises including Spotify, Adecco Group, Albertsons, Wise, MongoDB, and Monzo. Our team previously built Tessian (backed by Sequoia; acquired by Proofpoint) and we’ve raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, Accel, Point Nine, and First Round.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a core partner to our VP of Product and VP of Engineering — helping to build, scale, and run a high-performing Product & Engineering organisation.
This is a high-autonomy role for someone who loves getting things done, taking ideas from “we should…” to “it’s live”, and owning problems end-to-end. One week you might be tightening a hiring funnel for senior engineers; the next, redesigning how we run R&D planning, or digging into data to understand where our teams are blocked.
Your primary focus will be people: sourcing, growing, and nurturing exceptional talent. You’ll design and run the systems that attract top-tier builders, help them ramp fast, and keep them thriving over the long term. This is not a back-office role. You’re a builder embedded in the heart of R&D — sitting at the intersection of product, engineering, and org design. You’ll be hands-on with hiring processes, candidate sourcing, progression frameworks, onboarding, and team health.
Additionally, you’ll help sharpen how R&D operates: drive key cross-functional initiatives, define key operating rhythms & ways of working, build processes that enable quality delivery at pace and be a champion for R&D across the Omnea.
It’s an ideal role for someone who wants to grow into R&D Strategy & Operations Lead, Chief of Staff, or Product/Engineering Operations leadership — and who wants to compress years of learning into one role.
The spike we’re looking for is bias to action and operational excellence inside high-velocity teams. You care about the details, you move at pace, and you’re energised by turning ambiguity into momentum.
What Can You Expect?
You’ll help run the R&D hiring engine.
You’ll support hiring across Product, Engineering, Design, and Data — from shaping role briefs, to building target lists, to partnering with Talent on outreach and process. You’ll help keep pipelines healthy, interviews tight, and candidates feeling the craft and care we put into every hire.
You’ll be the glue between R&D and Talent/People.
You’ll work closely with our Talent/People team to ensure we have the right pipelines, and processes in place: from outreach campaigns and scorecards, to interview training and compensation alignment. You’ll spot bottlenecks early and fix them so we never lose great people for avoidable reasons.
You’ll support how we grow and retain our builders.
You’ll help improve onboarding for new joiners, so they ramp quickly and understand how we work. You’ll contribute to career progression frameworks, feedback cycles, and R&D-wide initiatives that make Omnea a place where top builders can do the best work of their careers.
You’ll help drive the operating rhythm of R&D.
You'll work with the R&D Chief of Staff and leadership team to design and run the operating cadences that keep R&D aligned: R&D all-hands, planning cycles, quarterly reviews, and team forums. You'll own the design, execution, and continuous improvement of these rituals — ensuring decisions are made efficiently and translated into clear action across teams.
You’ll make our teams more effective, not just more organised.
You’ll dive into how we plan, build, and ship — and help to improve it. That might mean clarifying ownership between teams, tightening handoffs between Product and Engineering, simplifying a process that’s slowing people down, or improving how R&D collaborates with GTM and Customer teams.
You'll champion R&D across Omnea.
You'll help make R&D's work visible and valued across the company. That might mean launching an R&D newsletter, running demos or showcases of what we've shipped, creating presentations for company all-hands, or designing other initiatives that help the wider team understand what we're building, why it matters, and how we work.
You’ll turn data into better decisions.
You’ll help define and maintain simple, useful views of how R&D is doing — across hiring, delivery, and team health. You’ll pull data from different systems, sanity-check it, and help leaders interpret what it means so we can course-correct quickly.
You’ll raise the external bar.
You’ll shape employer brand and press opportunities, design exec narratives, and turn wins into signal to move the market and attract talent.
You’ll operate with real ownership from day one.
You won’t just be told what to do. You’ll be expected to spot issues, propose solutions, and run with them. You’ll communicate clearly, loop in the right people, and take pride in shipping high-quality work, fast — often on problems that don’t have a playbook yet.
You’ll learn fast and work closely with leadership.
You’ll work directly with our VP Product, VP Engineering, and R&D Chief of Staff — getting exposure to how product strategy, roadmap, hiring, and org design come together as we scale. You’ll earn trust by delivering, and you’ll be given more scope as you show you can handle it.
About You
You’ve spent 2–4+ years in fast-paced environments (Start-ups, Investment banking, Management consulting) — or you can demonstrate equivalent experience from building things yourself.
You’re a strong generalist operator. You’re happy to jump between talent work, process design, project management, and data analysis — and you care more about solving important problems than about staying inside a narrow lane.
You’re energised by hiring and people. You may not have owned full-cycle recruiting before, but you’re excited to help us find, evaluate, and close exceptional Product & Engineering talent — and you’re willing to get into the sourcing trenches when needed.
You’re operationally excellent and detail-oriented. You can take a vague problem (“our hiring loop feels slow”, “this ritual isn’t working”, “this project keeps slipping”) and break it into a plan, with clear owners, timelines, and success metrics.
You communicate with clarity, warmth, and crisp writing. You’re comfortable writing briefs, summarising decisions, and sharing updates with busy leaders. People feel more organised and informed after working with you.
You act like an owner. You notice things that are broken, fix them, and follow through. You’re happy to do unglamorous work if it moves the team forward.
You thrive in high-velocity, in-person environments. You like being close to the action, working side-by-side with builders, and iterating quickly.
Dealbreakers
This is not the right role if:
You’re looking for a pure strategy role, or want to stay mostly in decks, frameworks, and analysis rather than owning execution.
You’re not excited about hiring and people — including the hands-on, sometimes unglamorous work of keeping pipelines moving and processes tight.
You need a lot of structure, a fully defined playbook, or very narrow responsibilities. This role requires comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to figure things out as we go.
You optimise for process over progress — or prefer to critique from the sidelines rather than jumping in to fix things.
If you get energy from building teams, improving how they work, and shipping meaningful change quickly, you’ll have an outsized impact here.
