About the Product Team and the Role

As a Product Design Consultant, you will own the UX and UI design areas within our AI-enabled clinical and workflow assistant for fetal imaging. This is not a supporting role. You will lead the design of features and flows from discovery through to delivery. This means conducting your own research, making informed decisions, and working directly with product managers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders to ship experiences that are both delightful and clinically effective.

This role is for designers who are confident working autonomously, have a strong point of view on how products should work, and are ready to shape a category-defining product in one of the most meaningful spaces in healthtech.

What will you do?

Design Ownership

• Own end-to-end UX and UI design for assigned product areas, from research and concept ideation through to high-fidelity design, prototyping, and post-launch iteration.
• Drive design decisions with well-reasoned rationale, balancing user needs, clinical requirements, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Contribute to and evolve the product design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across the product.

User and Design Research

• Plan and lead user research studies and usability testing sessions with clinical stakeholders, including radiologists, sonographers, and fetal-medicine specialists.
• Translate qualitative and quantitative research findings into clear, actionable design directions.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare UX constraints to inform design decisions.

Prototyping and Visual Design

• Create detailed wireframes, interaction flows, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma to communicate and validate design solutions.
• Build and test functional prototypes with clinicians and engineering teams, iterating rapidly based on feedback.
• Uphold and contribute to visual design standards and the product design language.

Usability and Experience

• Define and own usability metrics for your design areas; implement and monitor analytics to track user behavior and identify friction points.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative usability analyses and present findings with clear, actionable recommendations.

Documentation and Compliance

• Own the creation and maintenance of regulatory-relevant design documentation, ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare product and medical device standards

Who are we looking for?

• A designer who is confident in their point of view and is not afraid to push back when the data or the user tells a different story.
• 2 to 4 years of product design experience (UX/UI) with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of design projects.
• Strong proficiency in Figma; hands-on experience with design systems and component libraries.
• Solid understanding of user-centric design, HCI principles, and UX research methodologies.
• Ability to analyze usability data, heatmaps, and behavioral analytics to inform design decisions.
• Strong communication skills, able to present design rationale compellingly to product, engineering, and clinical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with healthcare or medical device regulatory constraints is a plus; genuine interest in AI-driven product experiences is essential.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
