The Role / Responsibilities:

The Regulatory Support and Controls (RSC) team in Moody’s Ratings Operations and Controls (ROC) is responsible for the implementation, execution, support, and controls of processes and enabling technology that support the end-to-end credit rating process and regulatory-mandated processes. ROC is looking to hire a Senior Operations Analyst to join the team.

This Senior Operations Analyst represents a key role that manages the Costa Rica based Document Management team as well as provide local leadership and guidance to broader the Regulatory Support and Controls team located in Costa Rica. The individual in this role will:

  • Manage the Costa Rica Document Management Operations team, with roughly 7 individuals directly reporting to this position. The Costa Rica team is responsible for supporting the process of retaining key rating process information to meet regulatory obligations. This role will manage the day-to-day distribution of tasks and tracking of performance to support business needs managing both urgent same day requests along with projects.
  • Develop the Costa Rica Document Management Operations team through review & feedback of deliverables, mentorship, and guidance.
  • Partner with the extended ROC team located in Costa Rica and works closely with the extended team based in New York and India to achieve key deliverables.
  • Develop deep Subject Matter Expertise on the electronic document management systems, internal archival and record retention processes, and controls as well as policies and procedures.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to streamline and standardize business processes and enhance operational controls and efficiencies targeted to the team’s work to support document management activities. Particular attention to identifying opportunities for improvement within document management systems.
  • Support enhancements, testing, and major changes associated to the document retention platforms and systems.
  • Develop knowledge of the end-to-end rating and other processes process supported by the RSC team along with global Regulatory Policies and Procedures.
  • Support day to day stakeholder management working directly with the Moody’s Ratings analysts to support the filing and questions associated to record retention and requirements.
  • Facilitate senior management reporting requirements regarding key activities within the team.
  • Assist with the retrieval and collection of electronic records to support requests from control teams and external regulatory agencies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to local Regulatory Support and Controls team in coordination with the global team and process leaders. Coordinate with local and regional Moody’s Ratings leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate BA/BS degree in business, finance/economics, management, engineering, archival studies, or similar field; MBA or postgraduate degree a plus
  • 8+ years of operational business process management and/or business analysis experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing direct reports, teams of 5 or more.
  • Ability to supervise, facilitate, negotiate, and resolve interpersonal or inter-team conflicts.
  • Experience working with global extended teams and global key stakeholders.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with different levels of management and articulate/present issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to set direction, ensuring working groups meet project deliverables.
  • Self-starter and team player with ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to reach across organization to successfully resolve requests/inquiries.
  • Highly organized and efficient, with an attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, facilitate, negotiate, and resolve interpersonal or inter-team conflicts.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills and knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of Moody’s rating systems, analysis tools and operational processes a plus.
