Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, Apache Airflow, dbt (Structured Query Language), and Python with Amazon Web Services.
  • Strong experience in data integration and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes across diverse data sources and formats.
  • Proficiency in database engineering, especially with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Ability to lead code reviews, workshops, and documentation to educate and support team members.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can improve processes and efficiency. Interest in responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS database technologies, data governance principles, object-oriented programming, and big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and AWS Kinesis.
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency.
  • Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data solutions for Moody’s content delivery platform.
  • Architect, develop, and maintain data pipelines and cloud-native solutions for content delivery.
  • Support continuous improvement of applications, infrastructure, and process controls.
  • Provide hands-on development and operational support for database deployments across environments.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Manage individual tasks and time efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of assigned work.
  • Lead and educate others through code reviews, workshops, and documentation.

About the team

Our Digital Content & Innovations Data Engineering team is responsible for building and maintaining Moody’s next-generation content delivery platform.

By joining our team, you will contribute to technology transformation, support multiple engineering teams, and help drive scalable, highly available cloud-native solutions for Moody’s global audience.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $116,500.00 - $150,000, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
