Skills and Competencies
Required

• Experience with AWS (e.g., VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CodePipeline/CodeBuild)
• Experience with Git (GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab)
• Experience with Linux-based systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Experience with containerization using Docker
• Experience with scripting/programming (Python or Shell) for automation
• Understanding of cloud and DevOps security practices (e.g., security group configuration, secrets management, and least privilege access)
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment

Preferred

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon Q)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation or Terraform)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CircleCI)
• Experience with load balancing technologies (e.g., Nginx, HAProxy) and CDN/WAF platforms (e.g., Cloudflare)
• Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure or Google Cloud)

• Experience with security and vulnerability management tools (e.g., Snyk, Prisma Cloud, Wiz)
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Build and support multi-region cloud infrastructure and automation that ensure Moody’s web products are delivered and operated with reliability, security, and scalability.
• Drive adoption of serverless architectures (e.g., AWS Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, MWAA, DynamoDB) and container-based platforms (e.g., ECS Fargate) to modernize existing systems and deliver products more efficiently.
• Adopt Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and Policy as Code (PaC) (e.g., Wiz, Prisma) to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Build and maintain flexible, reusable, and secure CI/CD infrastructure that enables development teams to manage their own pipelines for fast, reliable application delivery.
• Monitor and optimize AWS resource usage to control costs while maintaining reliability and scalability.
• Administer SaaS tools (e.g., GitHub, Postman, JFrog, Prisma Cloud, internal portals) to ensure security and efficient development workflows.
• Track and evaluate emerging tools, services, and practices in the industry, testing and adopting those that enhance scalability, security, or developer productivity.

About the team
Our DC&I DevOps team is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of Moody’s global web platforms.
We contribute to Moody’s by:

• Delivering scalable, multi-region cloud infrastructure to support high-traffic, customer-facing products.
• Providing agile, automated deployment pipelines that allow products to be released quickly, reliably, and securely.
• Safeguarding platforms with robust monitoring, traffic management, and security practices to ensure resilience and compliance.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position $94,800 - $148,400 depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
