Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise risk management, operational risk, or a related field within financial services
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional risk initiatives and deliver strategic outcomes across all Moody’s entities, functions, and risk partners
- Strategic and analytical mindset with a proven ability to develop and present complex risk insights
- Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills including ability to influence
- Experience in creating executive and board-level presentations
- Collaborative and able to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of stakeholders
- Expertise in risk metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools (Power BI proficiency preferred)
- Experience leading and mentoring junior team members and promoting a strong risk culture across a global organization
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using tools like Copilot and ChatGPT to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency
- Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions, including agentic AI systems, to solve business challenges
- Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field is required
Advanced degree or professional certification is preferred
Responsibilities
- Drive the firm’s enterprise risk strategy, including risk appetite, top risks, enterprise-wide risk assessments, and risk reporting
- Partner in the identification, challenge, evaluation, and monitoring of the firm’s top risks
- Design and execute comprehensive risk assessments across business units and functions
- Partner on enterprise-wide risk appetite and supporting metrics, and monitor compliance
- Develop and deliver executive-level risk reporting and dashboards
- Identify key risk drivers and trends requiring senior leadership attention
- Lead special risk-related initiatives that drive innovation, efficiency, and resilience
- Ensure compliance with risk committee charters, governance, and framework
- Serve as a central point of coordination for enterprise-wide risk activities and reporting
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, risk partners, and external stakeholders
- Mentor junior team members and foster a strong risk culture
About The Team
Our Corporate Risk and Resilience team is responsible for driving Moody’s enterprise risk strategy and ensuring alignment with business objectives. We contribute by identifying and managing top risks, enhancing governance frameworks, and delivering strategic insights to leadership. By joining our team, you will be part of exciting work in global risk management and enterprise coordination, leveraging AI tools like Copilot and ChatGPT to enhance risk reporting and foster responsible AI adoption across the organization.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $163,300.00 - $236,800.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
