Skills and Competencies
- Strong portfolio showcasing both static and interactive data visualizations
- Proven experience in data visualization and information design, ideally within a research or newsroom environment
- Fluency in Adobe tools (especially Illustrator) and Figma
- Strong understanding of responsive design and UX/UI principles
- Familiarity with data visualization tools including Datawrapper, RawGraphs, Tableau and/or Power BI
- Foundational understanding of web development including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience and interest in working in a highly collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate visual concepts and facilitate consensus among diverse teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using tools like Copilot and ChatGPT to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency
- Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions, including agentic AI systems, to solve business challenges
- Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
- Degree in Graphic/Visual Design, User Experience Design, Visual Communication, Computer Graphics, Fine/Studio Art, or a related field
Responsibilities
Create compelling visual narratives that communicate Moody’s risk expertise across financial markets.
- Collaborate with financial analysts and writers to turn complex and varied data sets into visual narratives for both static and interactive formats
- Create a portfolio of high-impact data visualizations that align with brand guidelines and industry standards
- Conceptualize, design and wireframe ambitious interactive graphics
- Partner with software developers to guide interactive graphics from concept to implementation
- Independently research and understand new data sets on topics relevant to financial markets
- Expand and refine the team’s design system
- Provide feedback on visual content created by other team members
- Adhere to team processes and protocol to enable seamless, cross-team collaboration
About the team
Our Research Graphics & Multimedia team is responsible for enhancing the quality of Moody’s Ratings research through innovative digital assets & producing impactful visual content that supports financial analysis, storytelling, and thought leadership. By joining our team, you will be part of exciting work in sustainable finance, commercial real estate, private credit and more & help drive adoption of interactive and AI-enhanced design tools across Moody’s Ratings.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $78,500.00 - $113,750.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
