Skills and Competencies
- At least 2+ years of experience in Structured Finance or 3-4 years in credit analysis in similar fields
- Validated and well-developed analytical and modelling skills are required
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities in Portuguese and English are required. Some Spanish skills are preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are required
- Python programming & Visual Basic for Applications knowledge are preferred
- Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, with curiosity and enthusiasm for learning how AI tools can be used to improve processes and drive efficiency. Interest in exploring AI systems and a willingness to develop awareness of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
Education
- Minimum bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, business administration, statistics, accounting, engineering or similar
Responsibilities
Conduct credit analysis and assign ratings for Brazilian Structured Finance transactions using Moody’s Local methodologies.
- Analyze transaction documents to understand transaction structure and legal, operational, and counterparty risks
- Analyze characteristics of underlying portfolio and performance history to derive loss assumptions
- Apply default and cash flow modeling in line with Moody’s Local rating methodologies
- Lead virtual and in-person meetings with originators, advisors and other transaction participants as part of the rating analysis process
- Present credits efficiently and accurately in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings, formulate a coherent credit rationale and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion
- Communicate rating rationales to investors and other market participants through rating reports, presentations and meetings
- Assist in producing timely and relevant research that is in-depth, high quality, informative and focused
- Assist in rating methodology, model and scorecard updates
About the team
Our team is responsible for assigning local scale ratings to Brazilian Structured Finance transactions and is instrumental in positioning Moody’s Local as the preferred rating agency in the domestic market. As an Associate Credit Analyst, you’ll join a dynamic group working on both new and existing deals across a broad range of asset classes—including auto loan securitizations, payroll-deducted loans, consumer loans, trade receivables, credit card receivables, and mortgage loans, among others.
