Skills and Competencies
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis processes, modeling, and familiarity with business intelligence tools; data science experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including Microsoft Office (preferably Office 365), Hyperion Planning, Essbase, and exposure to BI, automation, and AI tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with advanced decision-making capabilities and a solid understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written in English), with the ability to summarize and present findings to senior stakeholders effectively.
- Detail-oriented and data-quality focused, experienced in handling large datasets, reviewing team deliverables, and synthesizing quantitative/qualitative data for decision-making.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with flexibility to adapt to last-minute changes while aligning with business requirements and management expectations.
- Highly motivated with a change-agent mentality, eager to learn new skills, tackle challenges, and provide financial leadership.
Education
- Undergraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or other quantitative field is required.
Responsibilities
This is an individual contributor role for a Senior Financial Analyst, responsible for providing intermediate to advanced support across all phases of financial planning and analysis. The role involves business partnering, collaborating on cross-functional projects, and supporting the execution of revenue planning, analysis processes, projects, and ad-hoc requests as required by the Finance organization. The Sr.FA will work with the Moody’s Analytics topline consolidations team, focusing on reporting metrics related to revenue and other income statement accounts.
- Lead, supervise, and review business planning processes and deliverables, including forecasts, budgets, and 5-year strategic plans, while creating driver-based outputs for senior management discussions.
- Streamline revenue modeling and data consolidation processes by leveraging automation tools such as PowerQuery, Python, or AI workflow tools.
- Proactively lead process improvement initiatives by evaluating, recommending, and implementing best practices to enhance reporting, increase productivity, and standardize activities across business planning.
- Support and review the preparation of monthly reports and variance analyses, utilizing financial KPIs and historical trend analyses to provide actionable insights for management.
- Actively collaborate and communicate with local, regional, and global contacts to foster relationships and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Lead and review the development of new reporting solutions, while providing formal guidance or on-the-job training to team members.
- Oversee and manage special projects as assigned by senior finance management.

The Moody’s Analytics topline consolidation team delivers forward-looking financial insights, including ARR, revenue, and sales pipeline metrics. Operating cross-functionally, the team drives strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and process improvements. Known for its analytical rigor and collaborative approach, it plays a key role in shaping Moody’s financial strategy.
