Skills and Competencies

  • Superb analytical skills with a strong ability to solve problems, learn independently, and work with complex datasets
  • Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and scripting languages like Python
  • Strong logical thinking and ability to develop robust code for data analysis and quality control processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements such as 10Ks and 10Qs, with knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting principles
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Engineering, or a related field is required
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Graduate degree and/or relevant certifications are a plus

Responsibilities
As a Data Quality Associate, you will contribute to generating and delivering industry-leading risk metrics for Moody’s Analytics products. This position involves a blend of qualitative and quantitative financial research and technical skills to source and maintain credit risk data and models. You will ensure accurate and timely financial data delivery by managing data acquisition, processing, and validation while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for quick learners passionate about data insights, problem-solving, and understanding credit risk models.

  • Adopt a holistic and strategic approach to data processes, focusing on systemic improvements while demonstrating accountability
  • Monitor and analyze data quality trends, developing metrics and strategies to improve data accuracy and consistency
  • Design, implement, and maintain data quality monitoring, reporting processes, and data processing pipelines to support credit risk models and related products
  • Conduct data profiling, analysis, and validation to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and enhance data accuracy
  • Extract financial information from publicly available company reports, map financial line items to model inputs, and apply data transformation techniques to standardize data for analysis
  • Stay updated with financial reporting standards to ensure accurate categorization and interpretation of financial data
  • Develop and implement AI-powered data quality strategies, leveraging generative AI and large language models to enhance processes and products
  • Build reports using business intelligence tools to highlight data trends and discrepancies, contributing actionable insights
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and development teams to ensure seamless delivery of accurate data to clients
  • Support data inquiries and issues with timely and precise resolutions, maintaining high-quality standards
  • Contribute to process automation and optimization efforts, documenting workflows and ensuring scalability
