General Summary

We are seeking a Senior Staff QA Engineer to join our team. You will lead quality initiatives across our AI-driven Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) platform. In this role, you will contribute to designing test strategies, building automation frameworks, and driving quality across edge devices, video analytics, backend services, and frontend interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute end-to-end test strategies for the VSaaS platform, covering edge devices, video analytics, backend services, and frontend interfaces.
• Develop automated test frameworks for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, AI, Backend and Frontend, to define test plans, acceptance criteria, and quality goals.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure high release quality and enable rapid feedback loops.
• Investigate, track, and drive resolution of defects; continuously refine test coverage and improve overall platform reliability.
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 6+ years of Quality Engineering or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's Degree in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 5+ years of Quality Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Applied Science, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Quality Engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 10 + years of experience in QA engineering or software testing.
• Solid experience testing RESTful APIs and web/mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Postman, etc.).
• Proficient in scripting or programming with Python or Go.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience testing cameras, video streaming, media processing and real-time analytics.
• Understanding of computer vision or LLM agents in a product context.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
• Knowledge of security and privacy considerations in video surveillance systems.
• Prior experience with performance, load, and stress testing in large-scale distributed systems.

Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits

$155,800.00 - $233,600.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
