Job Overview
The team develops a 5G+ base station modem integrated into an O-RAN–compliant System-on-Chip (SoC). Work spans system design, modeling of hardware and firmware behavior, test vector development, automation, and debug tooling. The team also evaluates new features and algorithms for upcoming firmware releases and future modem generations.
Based on skills and project needs, the intern will join either the Systems Engineering or Software Engineering team and contribute to development of production-grade base station modem technology. The role includes mentorship and hands-on work with a large, shared codebase in a global engineering environment.

Responsibilities
- Support system design and analysis for 5G base station modem features
- Develop models and reference implementations for functionality implemented in hardware and firmware
- Create test vectors and test collateral for hardware and firmware validation
- Develop automation scripts and debug tools to improve development efficiency
- Assist with system bring-up, debugging, and issue analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple sites and time zones
- Document designs, test results, and technical findings as required
- Key Technologies
- 5G NR physical layer (hardware and software implementations)
- Digital signal processing, including beamforming
- O-RAN fronthaul and packet processing
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic understanding of communications theory and/or digital signal processing
- Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a cross-cultural team environment
- Willingness to collaborate across multiple time zones
- Knowledge of 5G NR and LTE physical layer
- Understanding of information theory, coding theory, adaptive filtering, detection and estimation, and digital communications
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and/or Python
- Exposure to AI/ML algorithms and implementation is a plus
- Start date and duration (up to 6 months) based on mutual agreement
- Opportunity for a summer internship or extended engagement aligned with a Master’s thesis
