General Summary

Job Summary

We are looking for a Linux Automation Engineer with strong hands‑on experience in Linux internals, scripting, automation frameworks, and open‑source tools. The role requires working in Linux development environments, building scalable automation solutions, and contributing to upstream workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Work hands‑on with Linux systems and internals in development and validation environments.
• Develop automation using Shell scripting (sh) and Python.
• Design and maintain automation frameworks using upstream and open‑source tools.
• Apply software design principles and design patterns to build reusable and scalable solutions.
• Use and contribute to open‑source projects and tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on Linux platform and automation initiatives.
  
  
  

LAVA Infrastructure & Worker Automation: Experience setting up and maintaining LAVA test infrastructure, including lava‑dispatcher configuration (device‑types/devices/health checks), and automating LAVA worker deployment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.
  
  
  

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 1+ year of work or academic experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
  
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Linux environment and internals.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting and Python.
• Experience with automation, CI/CD, and upstream tools.
• Good understanding of software design patterns and framework design.
• Familiarity with Git and open‑source development workflows.
