We are looking for a talented Backend Engineer to design and evolve the software stack, system utilities, and developer frameworks that power Arduino’s high-performance Linux platforms. We believe in hiring collaborative smart people who are excited to push boundaries.
You will join an inclusive team of technology specialists passionate about distributed backend systems, software architecture, and developer experience. Whether you are building high-level libraries or system-level utilities, you will be instrumental in creating the software foundation that connects Arduino hardware to the modern digital world.
What We Offer
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR

- 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
As a part of a team of talented engineers, you will:
- Develop and maintain Python (or Go Language) based software, libraries, and frameworks that empower developers to build on top of our platforms.
- Architect and deploy containerized applications (Docker) to ensure robust and scalable software environments.
- Contribute to the design of system-level tools and CLIs that improve the interaction between users and our hardware ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Software Architects to define technical solutions using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure.
- Guarantee consistency, efficiency and high quality to the Arduino codebase ensuring automated testing coverage and performing code reviews.
- Deliver value through a strong collaborative approach working in a cross-functional team, contributing finding creative solutions to enhance Arduino applications and tools.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or other technical related fields.
- 5+ years of software development work experience.
- Experience in Python or Go language, with a strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented libraries, applications or CLI utilities.
- Solid experience with Linux systems and a deep understanding of Containerization (Docker).
- High motivation and interest in pushing the boundaries of current technologies.
- A collaborative mindset—you enjoy solving problems that help other developers succeed.
- Experience with Cloud microservices, REST APIs, Kubernetes or AWS managed services.
- Experience with Linux OS integration or system-level scripting.
- Knowledge of Arduino or similar electronics.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
