About Thermosphr

Thermosphr is a ClimateTech startup optimising energy management for commercial buildings across Europe. Our software combines thermal modelling, model predictive control, AI, and real-time energy management — delivering over 30% energy savings for offices, shopping centres, and universities. Over 1 million square metres operated across Europe, with more than 3,000 tonnes of CO2 avoided to date.

We are an international team based in Paris and Berlin, in a phase of rapid growth. We value ownership, continuous learning, and close collaboration. This role offers direct, measurable impact on how we operate and scale.

The role

As our portfolio of live buildings grows, so does the need to manage performance at scale. This role is primarily data and tech-driven : you will use building data to help the operations team work smarter, faster, and at scale — while developing a genuine understanding of how buildings and energy systems work.

You are technically curious, comfortable building tools from scratch, and excited by the idea of turning raw operational data into decisions. You will work closely with the Operations and Product teams.

This is not a pure tech or R&D role. You will spend as much time understanding operational problems as building solutions. If you are looking to optimise algorithms or work in an isolated technical environment, this is not the right fit. We move fast, we ship things that work at 80%, and we improve from there.

Responsibilities

Data & tooling

  • Build scalable monitoring tools and automate data pipelines that give the team real-time visibility across the full portfolio.
  • Leverage AI to accelerate prototyping and tool development.
  • Replace manual processes and legacy files with scalable, usable solutions.
  • Support project managers in interpreting their data and acting on it independently.
  • Identify patterns and anomalies across the building portfolio — surface insights before they become problems.

Understanding the business

  • Detect issues before they become problems : control logic errors, configuration gaps, missing data, equipment failures.
  • Dig into root causes, not just symptoms — and collaborate with the ops team to drive fixes.
  • Develop a working understanding of buildings, energy systems, and thermal behaviour over time.

Profile

Experience & skills

  • Rigorous analytical skills with the ability to structure problems, identify patterns, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Comfortable working across data tools and environments — you adapt to the stack rather than requiring a specific one.
  • Practical, consistent use of AI tools to improve efficiency and output quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with a high level of organisation.
  • Fluent in English and French.

Mindset

  • Technically curious — you want to understand how systems work, not just what the data shows.
  • You have either worked in a startup environment, or you have built things on your own — side projects, tools, automations. You iterate, ship, and improve. You don't wait for a perfect spec to start.
  • Ops-curious — you are as interested in why a building is underperforming as in the tool you will build to fix it. You are comfortable talking to non-technical people and translating data into decisions they can act on.
  • 80/20 mindset — you ship something that works and solves the problem, then you iterate. You don't disappear for two weeks to perfect something nobody asked for.
  • Autonomous and rigorous, while maintaining close alignment with the team.

What we offer

  • Ownership of the data and performance layer across our entire building portfolio.
  • Direct contribution to operational scalability and measurable energy savings.
  • A team environment that values expertise, initiative, and continuous improvement.
