We are seeking an exceptional Frontend Engineer to help us support the growth of our wellness product, Helios. The current product team includes our Head of Product, Designer, Frontend Engineer, and Backend Engineer, who have been delivering high-quality code for our wellness and clinical products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality web applications using React, Next.js and TypeScript.
  • Build and optimise components using tailwind and NextUI for a seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs and services.
  • Implement state management and data fetching strategies using Next.js server actions.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive component and end-to-end test suits using cypress.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of figma UI/UX designs and propose optimisations for maximum speed, usability and scalability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Completing in-depth manual testing of the web applications before a new release.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in frontend development.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Frontend Developer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in React and TypeScript.
  • Experience with Next.js and server-side rendered applications.
  • Knowledge and interest in writing component and end-to-end journey tests using tech such as Cypress, Nightwatch, Webdriverio, Protractor, etc.
  • Strong understanding of web development principles and best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.

Bonus points

  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience in rapid-growth environments and collaborating with diverse teams.

Interview Process

Our standard interview process follows the below format - we try to accomodate candidates needs and bulk steps together where possible.

  • Initial phone interview with the CTO (30 minutes) - this covers background and overall alignment with thymia's mission and role
  • Technical Interview - coding ( 1 hour); phone or in person with engineering team members
  • Non-technical Interview - get to know the team and CEO meetings (1 hour max to make sure that the candidate had the opportunity to meet all the relevant people); phone or in person
