Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design robots and other peripheral structures in alignment with engineering teams across various departments, ensuring designs meet technical and functional specifications throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Perform aggregate calculations, select appropriate components, and validate them through testing to ensure compliance with required standards and specifications.
• Create accurate CAD part and assembly models, including part and assembly drawings. Perform tolerance stack-up analysis where necessary to ensure precise design specifications.
• Conduct structural analysis and multi-body dynamics simulations to validate design concepts, ensuring they meet the required performance, safety, and reliability standards.
• Develop test cases, set up test environments, and conduct tests to validate product designs. Prepare detailed test reports and, based on test outcomes, work out a way forward by identifying areas for improvement, proposing design modifications, and planning future iterations or additional testing to ensure the product meets performance requirements.
• Develop and maintain Bill of Materials (BoMs), Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs), and testing and validation reports for clear communication and process adherence.
• Work closely with embedded systems, controls, and software teams to ensure the seamless integration of components. Collaborate with internal and external operations teams for activities such as component development, sourcing, quality control (QC), assembly, and other operational processes to ensure successful product delivery and high-quality standards.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to develop components as per specifications throughout the component development phase.

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in aggregate calculations and the ability to think logically and solve complex engineering problems effectively.
• Expertise in CAD software tools, preferably Solid edge, to create accurate models and designs quickly while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing and production processes and how they impact design decisions.
• Deep knowledge of GD&T principles and proficiency in performing tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Familiarity with Design Thinking principles for innovative ideation, problem-solving, and product design.
• Proven experience in creating detailed product documentation such as BoMs, SoPs, and testing reports.

Good to Have:

• Certified Courses in Design Thinking
• Familiarity with various Indian and International Standards, and compliance regulations
• Cross discipline knowledge
• Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation

Eligible Candidates:

• Desired Qualification: Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering (or related) from a Tier 1 or 2 Institute
• Work Experience: 2-5 years
