Software Engineer – DevOps / Systems Operations (On-Prem & Network Focus)

Role Summary
We are looking for a Software Engineer – DevOps / Systems Operations to own deployment, reliability, monitoring, and on-prem infrastructure of a large-scale distributed software system operating in high-load, Wi-Fi-dependent environments.
This role emphasizes on-prem Linux systems, network/Wi-Fi reliability, containerized deployments, and operational excellence. Robotics experience is not mandatory; domain training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, operate, and maintain containerized software stacks on on-prem Linux servers
Execute upgrades, rollbacks, and versioned releases with minimal downtime
Monitor system health, throughput, latency, and service availability
Design alerts and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for production issues
Validate and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and network performance in high-density environments
Debug packet loss, latency, jitter, and roaming issues using standard tools
Operate and tune bare-metal Linux servers (CPU, memory, disk, network)
Execute staged and safe production rollouts with rollback plans
Apply OS hardening and follow secure deployment practices
Maintain operational documentation and runbooks
Required Skills
Strong Linux (Ubuntu server) experience
Hands-on Docker / containerized deployments
Networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, VLANs, routing)
Practical Wi-Fi/network troubleshooting experience
Monitoring and log analysis (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or similar)
Production troubleshooting under load
Proficient in Linux bash scripting and one programming language (Python or C++)
Operational familiarity with databases (availability, latency, backups) is sufficient like Postgres, MongoDB, etc.
Good to Have
Kubernetes (especially on-prem)
Infrastructure-as-code concepts
Experience with real-time or near real-time systems
Exposure to Redis or distributed systems
