About us:

We’re a fast growing AI startup on a mission to help midmarket businesses transform how work gets done.

We’ve built a factory for custom operations agents. The factory builds Virtual Agents: software workers with AI reasoning that complete complex workflows end-to-end, directly in customer tools. There’s no tech integration, process change or upfront cost. Onboarding is white-glove, takes a matter of days, and customers pay only for delivered value.

This makes Virtual Agents the lowest risk way to automate complex manual work. And it makes Unitary the first company delivering Fortune 500-grade AI deployment with the unit economics of software - enabling us to reach the midmarket at scale.

Today we’re focused on commercial insurance, marketplaces and primary healthcare. But the potential for Virtual Agents goes far beyond.

We closed $15M Series A funding in 2024, and we’re backed by some leading names in AI (Plural and Creandum). We’re working with world-class clients such as Substack, Trustpilot, Depop, Sony Interactive Entertainment and many more.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-funded startup at a crucial stage of growth, and to play a significant part in turning frontier AI technology into real world value.

About the role:

We’re seeking an experienced VP Product to lead Virtual Agents through its next stage of growth.

Reporting to the CEO and joining the executive team, you will own product strategy and execution across the Virtual Agents business. You'll define where we play and how we win, build out the product team, and partner closely with engineering, AI research, go-to-market and operations to scale the product from several million in ARR into a category-defining business.

This is a 1-N role: the product is delivering value and growing fast, but we’re at the very start of what Virtual Agents can do for midmarket businesses.

You will:

  • Own product strategy for Virtual Agents. Define the multi-year vision, decide where we invest, and translate that into a roadmap the company can execute against. Bring rigour and clarity to decisions that span product experience, tech differentiation, vertical expansion and commercial model
  • Build and lead the product function. Hire and develop an exceptional product team and set the standard for how product is practised at Unitary
  • Work across the business to execute successfully on your strategy - ensuring products are built right, sales and marketing teams are enabled, and delivery teams can scale smoothly
  • Own the end-to-end product experience, including the onboarding, human-in-the-loop and customer success workflows that are central to how Virtual Agents deliver value. At Unitary, the implementation and CS experience is a critical part of the product and differentiation
  • Develop deep expertise in our customers, domains and competitive landscape — particularly commercial insurance — and use it to make sharp prioritisation calls
  • Operate as a member of the executive team. Contribute to company strategy, support fundraising, and represent the product externally with customers, partners and investors.
  • 10+ years in product, including prior experience as a Head of Product, VP Product, or equivalent product leader at a B2B startup or scale-up
  • Track record of taking AI or technically complex B2B products from early traction to meaningful scale — ideally as one of the first product leaders in the business. Experience from $10-$100M ARR is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop and retain excellent PMs, and to build a product function from a small base
  • Experience setting strategy in greenfield or rapidly evolving environments
  • Hands-on experience owning customer-facing motion beyond the roadmap — onboarding, implementation, support, or CS — and a conviction that this is real product work
  • Strong technical fluency: comfortable getting into architecture decisions with engineers and AI researchers, and able to hold your own on the trade-offs between deterministic systems and AI components
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills: able to break down ambiguous problems, set clear direction, and represent Unitary credibly to senior stakeholders, customers and investors
  • Experience in regulated B2B markets (commercial insurance, fintech, healthtech, legal tech or similar) is a strong plus
  • Self-motivated, low-ego, and energised by the realities of an early-stage company
  • Competitive salary, commission and equity package
  • Lots of autonomy and opportunities for growth
  • Flexible hours and location, with a monthly coworking budget or WeWork membership
  • Occupational pension (location dependent)
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Generous paid sick leave
  • Annual budget for your professional development and growth
  • Annual budget for your individual health and wellness
  • Quarterly team offsites to London and other exciting destinations in Europe
