Role Information

The role will include the following but not limited to:
- Performing Microbiological testing: Growth Promotion Testing (GPT), Environmental Monitoring, and Microbiological Identification using conventional methods and rapid methods (MALDI-TOF).
- Evaluating and trending (where applicable) the results obtained from the microbiological testing.
- General maintenance and housekeeping of the laboratory. Cleaning the laboratory according to schedules and as per ad hoc requirements.
- Performing maintenance of equipment including organising and coordinating maintenance/calibration activities with external contractors.
- Stock control of critical laboratory consumables and reagents.

Your Regulatory Responsibilities:
- Adhere to MHRA, GMP Regulations (specifically Specials Manufacturing) relevant to role.
- Must be aware of all responsibilities relating to Infection Prevention and Control.

Experience Required:
- You’ll have an analytical mind with strong data entry and document management skills.
- Previous experience in physical, digital data and Microsoft office skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and to acquire scientific knowledge.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Advantageous to have experience in the pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of GMP regulations.
- Knowledge of microbiology techniques (aseptic technique, culturing, plating, microscopy).
- Adhere to biosafety and aseptic techniques.
- Dispose of biological waste safely according to regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised laboratory environment.

Skills/Abilities Required:
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail and strong typing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Packages.
- Competent IT user.

Education:
- Minimum GCSE English, Maths & Science or equivalent
