Role and responsibility
We're looking for a highly skilled materials expert with ML/AI experience to help identify top materials candidates through high-throughput approaches. These materials will be tested in our high-throughput materials laboratory. Altrove is a lean, highly productive team. You’ll be working closely with the entire technical team and the founders. You will need to take responsibility for decision and execution on:
- High-throughput inorganic materials screening – Identify key novel materials from Altrove’s databases for industrially relevant inorganic use cases.
- Materials screening pipeline design – Rapidly develop materials screening pipelines, allowing expansion into novel materials classes.
- Lab-compute feedback – Bringing feedback from Altrove’s high throughput lab back into the materials screening pipe.
- Model Finetuning – Fine-tune pretrained ML/AI forcefields for the prediction of relevant material properties.
- Interaction with Commercial Customers – Take part in commercial partnerships and projects, interact with customers and ensure delivery to tight deadlines.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in materials science, inorganic chemistry, or materials physics
- Significant experience (PhD or years in industry) with ML/AI applied to materials science problems
- Ability to fine-tune and infer AI models
- Knowledge of graph neural networks and transformer architectures a plus
- Ability to take responsibility and be autonomous
- Get-s*it-done attitude
- Fluent English
